Jamie Archer in The Studio Recording New Record

Jamie Archer is in the studio recording what he describes an amazing rock record.

A year after Jamie left the X Factor, Jamie himself revealed to the Belfast Telegraph in an exclusive interview that he is currently in the recording studio recording a rock album, as he describes it himself, an album that you would expect from Kings of Leon or Queen.

Jamie has been incredibly busy living his dream of being a recording musician and a performer, and has spent a good part of 2010 singing live in gigs around the UK. Well now we know that he’s also been hiding in the studio recording his first CD. No release date yet but we will keep you informed.

Jamie Afro to Turn on Bracknell’s Christmas Lights

As Christmas seems to get closer this year than ever with all the main supermarket brands already advertising for Christmas, Jamie has book a date in his calendar to do his first Christmas event.

As a second year in a row he will be the main attraction to this kind of event and this year is Bracknell’s turn.

An event organized by Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, they have chosen Jamie as the celebrity that will officially inaugurate Christmas in Bracknell.

According to Helen Barnett, marketing manager of Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, they chose Jamie because of his quality as an entertainer:

We are delighted to have Jamie coming to turn on the Christmas lights.

“He’s an absolute entertainer who we are very pleased will be performing.”

So mark Sunday, November 28th in your calendar and take a trip to Bracknell to see Jamie performing on stage before switching on the lights.

Jamie Archer has given a candid interview to UnrealityTv where hi spills out his beans about the X Factor, Simon Cowell and his future as a performing artist.

Unlike other ex-contestants that seem to be air tight sealed when it comes to talk about their experience during the X Factor, Jamie seems to be sincere and candid in his interviews. Perhaps the most revealing interview he has given so far is the one published by UnrealityTv on November 20th.

Jamie seems to be a bit relieved of being out of the show and being able to perform freely the way he wants:

I did my first show yesterday in Rochdale and it was amazing! I felt really natural on stage because I wasn’t under the constraints of the show – I could really be myself.

yet he doesn’t diss the X Factor contest and actually regards the show as a great platform that has given him opportunities that otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to access.

I’d been playing for a long time. I’d tried to get record companies and A&R people down to gigs. I’d tried everything to get people to take note and just give me a chance. But nothing was working…

It’s funny, because people keep having a go at the X Factor and Simon Cowell because it’s plastic pop. But I have to say, it was Simon Cowell who gave me my break after all these years of people not giving me a chance, so I’m really grateful to him for that.

Jamie also talks about how he clashed with Simon Cowell during the show over song choices and how that was blown out of proportion by the media

It’s like that thing with me and Simon having arguments. We just disagreed over song choices and we disagreed with passion. That was it, but it got turned into “We’d fallen out, we’re not speaking” It was ridiculous. Sometimes the nucleus of a story might be right, but it gets blown out of all proportion…

Simon Cowell took a chance on me when no-one else would, and I love him for that, I respect him for that and I thank him for that.

When it comes to talk about his future, Jamie Archer is very confidant that X Factor allowed him to get noticed and that something will come up along the way, as for the immediate future he has live gigs until the X Factor tour. On the subject of signing with a record label he is still in the unknown, same as other fellow X Factor rejects.

Well at the moment, everything goes quiet until the end of the X Factor show. No-one knows what’s going on with that. None of the X Factor contestants do. We don’t find out until between one and three months after the show.

Jamie Archer will Play on Stars of 2009 on T4

As what is seen by the singer as an opportunity to demonstrate Simon Cowell that he can be a successful entertainer Jamie will perform at T4′s Stars of 2009 later this month.

Now that Jamie Archer is off the show, he wants to use this boost in popularity to get a recording contract with a record label, preferably with Simon Cowell’s Syco, he know’s Simon knows how to drive a singer to success and even after the differences they had during the competition Jamie knows that Simon can drive him to success.

Other acts to perform during the show are JLS, Sugababes, Calvin Harris, Alexandra Burke and La Roux.

Jamie Backs Up Olly Murs to Win X Factor

Jamie Archer thinks that Olly Murs should win the contest

After more than 14 million people saw how the most talented contestant of this year’s competition was being booted out, Jamie Archer blames his exit on poor song choices and his rocker style that didn’t match the target audience of the competition.

Perhaps many people started watching X Factor this year because of Jamie and his rocker edge that brought some credibility to a contest that seems to accumulate critics and compare it to a factory of short lasting pop singers (save Leona Lewis). All those disappointed spectators are probably longing for news of Jamie’s future in the Music industry.

Meanwhile Jamie has tried to make sense of his exit when he started of as a serious bet on winning the contest

Jamie commented

“I’m sad it’s over and I wasn’t able to get it right on the show,” Jamie said. “But I had a feeling and sort of knew it was coming on the day. when it came down to the final two I knew it was bad news.

He blames both in the song choice and his rocker style

“I think it came down to a bit of both.

“People who work on the show know what they are doing. They said do something more mainstream and easily digestible.

“It is a pop competition, so, with my style of music I was always going to be at a disadvantage. I kind of got the feeling I wasn’t right for the show . . . I think when I was being myself, that’s when it worked best.

“I would have chosen different songs, apart from Hurt and Crying. I would have chosen to sing Mr Brightside [A Killers song] in the first week. What a way to start off my X Factor and get people to go ‘that’s a surprise’.”

Jamie wants Olly Murs to win

So Jamie predicts that it’ll come down to Olly, Stacy and Danyl but he really wants Olly to win.

“I’m a close friend of Olly’s so I’m going for him,” he said, “But watch out for Jedward [rival act Jonathan and Edward Grimes].“

Jamie Archer Will Switch on Christmas Lights

He hasn’t been out for an entire week and he’s already lined up to switch on the Christmas Lights in Rochdale on Thursday night November 19th.

Switching the Christmas Lights in Rochdale will be Jamie Afro Archer’s first public event since he exited the X Factor contest.

The event will start at 6.00 pm on The Butts and it will be hosted by hosts of the Radio breakfast Show Ditchy and Salty, Alphabeat will also be performing at the event.

Jamie Archer Confirms Kandy Rain Romance

It’s been rumoured for weeks but never confirmed, this time Jamie Archer himself has confirmed that after being the horniest man on England after being booted off X Factor he is dating Kandy Rain singer Coco Lloyd

He was kicked out because of one Lloyd and he is going to the arms of another Lloyd, this time Kandy Rain’s singer Coco, part of the first act to be eliminated from the X Factor

X Factor singer Jamie Archer has confirmed that he is dating Kandy Rain’s Coco Lloyd. The girlband were the first act to be eliminated from this year’s X Factor.

When first rumours started spreading out Jamie only said that he was “very fond” of Coco, where now he has confessed to Digital Spy:

“I just can’t wait now to start getting on with my career and seeing Coco.”

The singer who confessed being distracted by both Cheryl and Dannii’s physique during the elimination also said about his last minutes in the competition:

“I have loved looking at Cheryl and Dannii every week. Especially Dannii’s boobs yesterday, they were great.”

All in all there are no regrets for Jamie Afro Archer, he confessed having a blast on X Factor and getting to meet some of his idols was a dream come true:

“I have a sore neck from headbanging and playing along to Queen, which was such an honour.”

Jamie Singing Show Must Go On Before being Booted off

As if Jamie was predicting that he was going ot be out of the X Factor competition tonight he sung Queen’s ‘Show Must Go On’ a hard to sing song but very powerful that suited Jamie’s voice perfectly well.

Simon said that he was sure X Factor was the platform for Jamie to launch a very successful music career and he is sure this is not the last we have seen of Jamie.
